In terms of the Estate Agency Affairs Act (“Act”) an estate agent must have a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC) in order to receive any payment or commission arising from his or her duties as an estate agent.
This act aims to provide for the establishment of bodies corporate to manage and regulate sections and common property in sectional titles schemes and for that purpose to apply rules applicable to such schemes; to establish a sectional titles schemes management advisory council; and to provide for matters connected therewith.
To provide for the division of buildings into sections and common property and for the acquisition of separate ownership in sections coupled with joint ownership in common property; and the establishment of a sectional titles regulation board; and to provide for incidental matters.
To promote a fair, accessible and sustainable marketplace for consumer products and services and for that purpose to establish national norms and standards relating to consumer protection,
To amend the Rental Housing Act, 1999, so as to substitute and insert certain definitions; to set out the rights and obligations of tenants and landlords in a coherent manner
